Two in two days.

I wasn't telling porky's when I said I have been busy, so here are a few more bit's and bob's. Most of my work at the moment seems to be inspired by the mountains or flowers, both of which I love. I have so many ideas floating around in my head, it's difficult to put them all down on paper/fabric. I tend to jump around from one thing to another, sometimes starting two pieces of work at once, but never actually finishing them. With this in mind I am going to try my hardest to focus on one thing at a time for a while and see how much more productive I can become.
Have a great day everyone :-)

Just dropping in quickly with a floral repeat I did a while back.

Floral repeat

So...I have managed to step away from the blues (admittedly this started off as various shades of blue...hallelujah for photoshop) It is a bit of a change to the other stuff I have been producing, but sometimes you just need some florals in your life.

Line Drawings

Taking inspiration from the local scenery, I have been playing around with mark making and line drawing using my new pens. I enjoy mixing simple shapes and pattern with more detailed drawing and want to develop this further. Hopefully I can get some designs together that I am happy with to start screen printing soon.

New pens....oooooh!

Don't you just love it when you order something online and completely forget you've done so?! Then a few days later it arrives like a present! This happened to me on Friday when to my delight some wonderful new pens arrived for me :-)
I have been using the black and white UNI posca pens for a long time, so its about time I ventured over to the coloured ones. I love them! I also got a Staedler triplus colour set...which I am equally loving. Above are a couple of small sketchbook drawings using them.

Unfortunately the day job has taken over a lot this week, meaning I have been quite unproductive. I did, however, get into the halloween spirit today and have made this bat print. (Apologies for the photos, lights not great today) I think I will wear it as a scarf...just need to sew the edges. I'll post a photo when its finished. What is everyone else up to this weekend? Something exciting I hope :-) Have a great one!

Yellow leaves...

Happy Friday all! So here goes...my first ever blog...exciting times!

A little bit about me and my blog - I love colour, pattern and print. I am a screen printer at heart but like to dabble in many other forms of crafting. I am fascinated with being able to make a product from scratch and am inspired by great craftsmanship. At the moment choosing one thing to focus on is proving incredibly difficult - so many ideas...so little time (I'm sure many of you know that feeling). Through this blog I hope to share my work with the world...I have enjoyed reading so many blogs over the last few months. I'm hoping you will come to like mine just as much...

Here are a few photos I took today whilst walking through the local woods. I am absolutely loving how autumnal it has become, the leaves have started to change to the wonderful oranges, yellows and browns. The air has that cool, crisp, wintery feel to it. I even saw a few chestnuts.

Here are a few recent drawings showing my exploration of ideas and pattern. I'm hoping to develop these further to turn into screen prints so keep posted...

Have a great weekend!!
