So...I have managed to step away from the blues (admittedly this started off as various shades of blue...hallelujah for photoshop) It is a bit of a change to the other stuff I have been producing, but sometimes you just need some florals in your life.
I am starting to see a bit of a 'blue' theme emerging in most of my drawings - as demonstrated above. I think i'll challenge myself to step away from the blue palette for a while. Maybe that should be what I give up for lent...it could be tough!...
Recently I invested in a drawing tablet but due to work, too much fun in the snow and admittedly a 'small' degree of laziness I have only just got round to having a little play with it. So - the first attempt is not exactly going to win any awards but everyone has to start somewhere...right? It makes a huge difference using the pen rather than struggling to draw a line with my not so very dainty fingers on the mousepad. The above piece was just an experimentation using different layers over a quick painting, but with a deeper thought process I think I can come up with some really interesting designs integrating some of the patterns I have been producing.
